Welcome to Blue Ridge Amateur Radio.
Thanks for taking a moment to take a look at our site. If you have an interest in Amateur Radio, or more specifically an interest in well made antenna tuners, please read on.
Blue Ridge Amateur Radio builds parts and complete antenna tuners for use in Amateur Radio. Everything we build including, roller inductors, capacitors, vernier drives, knobs, current baluns, dial skirts, turns counters, and cases are all hand made in Linville, North Carolina. We know that these components are getting hard to find and the ones you can find (even new!) are rather sketchy. This is why we decided to build our own "obsolete" components. We believe we are building the most robust roller inductors and capacitors available today. Take a look and see if you agree.
At Blue Ridge Amateur Radio we believe that Symmetric antenna tuners are the only way to go regardless of whether you are using balanced line output or not. Symmetric tuners are quieter and far more efficient than standard T-Network and L-Network tuners. Additionally, symmetric tuners guarantee that the phase relationship between the outbound and return path signals are balanced and thus eliminate feed line radiation. We should know, we run open wire feed line directly into our own ham shack.
